I sure have. I'm always thinking about MPG now. From the way I pull out to the way I stop. To the way I get into the vehicle. I try not to run over 2,000 rpm's unless necessary, which means if you get behind me at a stop light I'm not going to gun it and see how fast I can get up to speed. I start slowing down way before the light If I see it is red. I do not start up the vehicle till I'm ready to pull out, which means the seat belt is on, the windows are down and the sun glasses are on. It I'm changing cd's that gets done before the vehicle is cranked. same as when I get to where I'm going. The vehicle is turned off immediatley and all the rest comes off or unbuckled. If something is on XM that I want to hear no more idling to hear the end, vehicle goes off and the Acc switch is flipped.
I just don't know how much more I can take with gas prices going up. bought stuff today just for sandwiches and canned biscuits over the next couple day and it was $10. food prices, energy prices, gas prices and on and on. It is just crazy.

I've cut out personal recreational trips. No more "out and about." Work, home, local stores.
I do need to go to Bristol on occasion for dog food and Sams Club but I'm trying to buy enough at once to keep it down to once a month or less.
My style of driving hasnt changed - my dad would have my hide if he ever caught me gunning at a red light, screeching to a stop, etc., so I avoided picking up those habits in the first place [img]/LDPforum/ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif[/img]

we are going from an SUV (gas guzzler) to a Nissan Sentra ...I'm tired of paying $55-$60 to fill up 2-3 times a week.
Gas prices are said to go up this time next year to $5 a gallon. I'm wondering how people who have to make long commutes to work are gonna stand it....somethin's gotta give!!!
If I could park my SUV and get something different I would trade the sucker in but it is paid for and I can't imagine another car payment on top of my wife's car and paying for gas also.

Thank goodness my husband is able to drive a company truck most of the time to work and back. I can't imagine trying to keep gas in two or three cars. Most of the time we just have the one car to gas up.
(We were ready to trade cars anyways because it was getting up there in miles-we chose something good on gas instead of another SUV).
